DESCRIPTION/ DEFINITION

A 2-ply, flexible, impact grade acrylic engraving stock constructed of a clear cap sheet, about .010" thick, laminated to a contrasting colored base (or core) sheet.

High gloss, crystal clear cap sheet protects reverse engraved paint-filled images and provides a smooth, easy to clean surface. Reverse engraving allows for an unlimited number of colors to be used in addition to the base color. May also be used for backlighting. UV stable, and outdoor weatherable. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving.

The most widely used front engraving plastic features a brushed/ satin finish. The majority of The Cutting Edge's stock legend plates are produced from this material. The Satins are intended for indoor use; white will yellow slightly and colors will exhibit slight fading under prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving.

The Lacquers feature a highly polished or gloss look and are well suited for exterior use. This material is UV stable, outdoor weatherable, and is the most popular front engraving plastic for outdoor use. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving.

The Textures feature a unique, durable, textured (slightly pebbled) surface that resists fingerprints and scratches. UV stable, outdoor weatherable, and well suited for industrial environments. The thin cap sheet permits fine detailed engraving. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving.

Ultra-Matte front engravable material features a non-glare, matte finish that is easy to read. The thick, matte cap sheet is durable, fingerprint resistant, UV stable, and outdoor weatherable. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving.
